Thank you for visiting the Life's Resource Center (LRC) Website. It is our desire to provide you with useful and timely information that will enhance your knowledge of our After School, Summer Enrichment, and Community Development Center Programs.

Mission and Responsibilities

The mission of the Life's Resource Center is to promote academic excellence, enhance educational opportunities and equity for both the children and families, and to improve the quality of teaching and learning by providing smaller classrooms and one-on-one specialized tutoring and academic support.

On June 22 - 26, 2009, Pastor Watson and the LRC Leadership took the Summer Enrichment Program to Washington DC for a week long youth Development and Enrichment Experience. Among the many activities was a visit to the US Department of Education.

During the visit the students both received a lecture from and conducted an interview with Dr. Sylvia Lyles (pictured above: 2nd from the left), the Director of the US Department of Education. The students prepared their own questions, conducted the interview themselves and captured the entire experience on video.

The students were extremely excited and learned a lot during the experience. We believe it was a life changing event for all the students.
